How to increase the volume via the huawei and honor engineering menu

This functionality is the ability to change the volume of the speaker. To implement:

This is a very important moment actually. Because, as I said before, when the new firmware is loaded for the first time and you see the same old EMUI on the desktop, it gets a bit sad. Of course, I hope there will be new themes in the final version of the firmware. But at the moment in the beta version there is only one local one and there is no possibility to load themes from the Internet.

Nevertheless, the issue can easily be solved by downloading and installing the theme yourself. On the Internet there are a lot of themes for EMUI in the format hwt. Download the file and put it in the folder HWThemes, which is located in the internal memory of the phone. This theme becomes available for selection in the Theme Manager.

For example, I found some material themes and combined them in the best way for me, put my wallpaper on the desktop and closed the issue of the shell design until a better time.

Navigation Buttons

Here everything remains the same as before – the on-screen buttons, the design and location of which can be customized in the menu. In addition, you can add an additional button to call the notification curtain. During typing, a button for quick selection of the keyboard layout appears on the panel.

Telephone

This is the first function displayed at the beginning of the test. Many settings are available in this item, manifested in the following:

1. Adjusting the answering machine functions.
2. Manual selection of GSM frequencies.
3. Setting conditional forwarding.

Notification Curtain

This element in EMUI 5 has been completely redesigned. Instead of two separate tabs for notifications and toggles, we see one. At the top is a panel with switches and a screen brightness slider, which expands by swiping down to reveal additional buttons. The location and composition of the buttons can be edited by clicking on the corresponding icon.

In addition, the design of the curtain has changed completely, it has become more “material”. We see contrasting blue buttons on a black background and white notification cards with the ability to perform quick actions. The advanced display and set of actions with the notification is revealed by a tap. Read notifications can be “swiped” with side swipes.

Overall, I like the new curtain in EMUI 5, both in design and functionality. It is less cluttered than in the old version and more ergonomic.
