Smartphone Huawei P10 looks really impressive. Durable polished metal not only makes the device durable, but also incredibly beautiful. There is a 2.5D curved glass on the front. Under the screen there is a mechanical button, where the fingerprint scanner is hidden. But in the upper part you can find an iris scanner, which takes security to a new level.

The gadget is thoroughly protected against moisture and dust (IP68). The body itself has a slightly curved shape, so that the user does not feel any discomfort during a long conversation. Under the metal there is a 3100 mAh battery, which has a fast charging function. Available colors: gold, mint, lilac, black.

Screen

Compared to its predecessor, the P9, the new P10 has a smaller but more comfortable 5.1-inch screen (64 x 113 mm). The display meets modern flagship standards: IPS, Full HD resolution, the latest 2.5D protective glass. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 can withstand a fall from the so-called “selfie height” – about 160 cm. Huawei did not set itself the task, like Samsung, to completely get rid of the frame: there is a thin black “side”, but it does not hurt the eye.

The display supports 10 simultaneous touches – the smartphone is pleasant and easy to manage, it perfectly reads and interprets pressures of different strengths thanks to the new interface. The screen pleases with rich colors (432 ppi), and the brightness is more than enough for comfortable work in bright sunlight. True, the protective film of the screen noticeably glares: leave it or not – at the discretion of the owner.

Hardware and performance

Thanks to the highest performance, P10 is able to run absolutely any application from Google Play without visible brakes and freezes. It houses the most powerful octa-core Kirin 960 processor and Mali G71 graphics accelerator, which makes it possible to enjoy the latest games with the maximum number of effects.

There are two versions of Huawei P10 – with 4 GB of RAM 64 GB of permanent memory or with 6 GB of RAM 128 GB. At the same time, MicroSD cards are supported to expand the internal space up to 1 TB. Out of the box, the flagship comes with Android 7.0 on board, as well as the proprietary EMUI 5.0 shell. The device also received a progressive system of artificial intelligence.

Equipment

Huawei P10 is packed in a small cardboard box: white, minimalist design, laconic lettering with a bright red accent.

It opens in a rather original way: the doors move apart – inside there is a phone in the tray, under it there is a folder with documents, a paper clip and a bumper, below there are 2 boxes with a headset and a charger. Initially, the sashes were fastened with a sticker – a trace remained from it. The manufacturer immediately applied a protective film to the screen.

Communication and sound

The sound quality of the Huawei P10 is indicated by the built-in audio technology from the eminent company Harman / Kardon. An advanced sound system was created together with Yamaha Corporation. As a result, the phone boasts powerful speakers, and the sound in the headphones pleasantly surprises with its sophistication and depth. The gadget is equipped not only with an LTE module, but also with NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, and wide-band Wi-Fi 2.4 / 5 GHz.

Comfortable shell

The operating system is Android 7.0, covered with the proprietary EMUI 5.1. Compared to the previous version, the new one has brought many important changes. The standard features of Android 7.0 work: multi-window mode, reply to messages from the notification curtain, etc. It is difficult to list all the functions of EMUI, I will mention the main ones:

• The standard list of running applications is used
• You can choose between placing all applications on desktops or enabling the applications menu
• , it became possible to create clone applications, which is useful for those who maintain several accounts in one social network
• The appearance of the interface has many settings: the dimension of the grid of applications on desktops is changed, there is support for design themes, the number and order of on-screen control keys are configured
• Convenient end-to-end search that looks for information everywhere – among applications, available settings, messages, contacts and so on. Runs with a swipe down on the desktop
• Many settings related to power consumption, application rights, access to data transfer, cleaning unnecessary data and so on

In general, the shell has become even more functional and convenient. Some people are criticizing it for the design of icons, but if the pre-installed and presented in the store themes do not suit you, you can find themes created by folk craftsmen with stock icons. The only thing, I would like to see such a theme in the form of a solution from the manufacturer.

The company itself claims that the shell is also “smart”. Built-in algorithms analyze the frequency of use of specific applications, carry out memory defragmentation, which is why even after a year of use, the original speed of the smartphone should be maintained.
