Appearance and ergonomics

Huawei Honor Play has a trendy frameless design. Around the display there is a very thin frame, and at the top there is a relatively small “cutout”. Below the screen there is only the brand logo without any navigation buttons, which are virtual. The top of the matrix is covered with a sleek 2.5D glass.

The case itself is made of very strong and dense aluminum with a nice texture. On the back there are plastic strips for the antennas, which are cleverly masked in the area of the ends. This is also where the fingerprint scanner is located. And in the upper left corner there is a convex block with a dual camera, located vertically. Somewhat lower there is a flash. The bottom edge is equipped with a multimedia speaker, a USB Type-C connector and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The frankly elongated body fits comfortably in all hand sizes. At the same time, the cool metal creates a great feeling during use. The rounded corners also improve ergonomics. The Honor Play has a 6.3-inch screen, which occupies more than 83% of the total front panel area. The resolution of this IPS matrix is 2340 by 1080 pixels. It is necessary to note the extremely unusual aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Thanks to this is very comfortable to control characters in games. This format and in general the device is great for a variety of entertainment (movies, Internet, photos, etc.).

The color gamma can be freely changed through the corresponding settings. The picture quality is very high. Not only will you be pleased with the excellent detail of the image, but also with the fast response, as well as really juicy shades. The viewing angles are close to the maximum values.
