Review of Medal of Honor (2020)
The Medal of Honor series has always had a difficult fate. As new parts were released, it always had more and more powerful competitors. First Call of Duty with its previously unprecedented entertainment and scale, then Brothers in Arms with its storyline and dialogues, excellent for shooters about the Second World War. And after Modern Warfare, no Airborne with its extremely monotonous levels could sustain the series. People forgot about “Medal of Courage,” but the good guys at DICE decided to completely restart the series. No fascists, no landings on Omaha and no parachute jumps. What can I say, they did it. Playing the new MoH is much more interesting than its direct competitor Modern Warfare 2. If you want details, everything that is written below is for you.
Review of Medal of Honor (2020)
The main attraction of the new Medal of Honor is the local plot, which is (nonsense) interesting to follow. There is, of course, nothing here that will touch your soul and make you shed a stingy, masculine tear. But there is something in it that can rarely be found in other games of this genre. Empathy for the heroes.
Even though the tasks have little connection with each other, even if the videos are clearly screwed on for show, all these shortcomings are covered by the situation happening inside the units. We always know what we are doing and why. In your mind you understand that if you were in the place of the main character, you would have done the same. And coupled with the chic artificial intelligence of your partners, who can easily complete the task, even if you are not there at the time, you feel that this is a team, and not three dummies with a flying camera. Of course, there are still tasks like “A sniper is sitting on a tower, kill him,” but firstly, they do not occur so often, and secondly, it is interesting to find that same sniper using an infrared device built into the scope of your sniper rifle. And such missions develop into a real sniper duel. True, it’s interesting that this is only for those playing at the highest difficulty level, since at the normal level they will show you the target, and besides, all the excitement disappears somewhere, because at the average difficulty level, our hero can withstand several direct hits to the head.
As I already said, the series has been completely restarted, which means there will be new scenery. And these same decorations will become the city of war and fear “Afghanistan”. And this is where the development team hit the nail on the head. Playing, for example, Modern Warfare 2 on the screen I saw only explosions, murders and the capture of Burger-king by the Russians. Everyone understood that it was impossible to come up with anything more absurd and you, like a complete idiot, ran from one eatery to another, simultaneously killing Russians who communicate in some incomprehensible language. Here everything is clear and most importantly, you want to believe in it. Agree, watching a squad of American soldiers fighting back and running away from the battlefield is much better than watching the same squad defend a diner.

As for the units themselves, there will be three of them in the game (not counting the Apache pilot). The first detachment, TIER1, elite special forces, a well-trained, well-functioning team. In it we will get into the skin of a fighter under the pseudonym “Rabbit”, and “Mama”, “Voodoo” and “Preacher” will cover our backs. You will spend most of the game in the skin of the “Rabbit”.
Second squad “Wolves”. Consists of two fighters. Deuce and Duse (the same bearded man on the cover of the game) Basically, playing for this squad, we will crawl on our bellies and quietly kill the sentries.
Well, the last squad. Marines. We will only fight in this detachment for a couple of missions, but that’s even good. Since, unlike the first two squads, “Dante” is not interesting to play. You will not see any differences from the same Call of Duty.
Review of Medal of Honor (2020)
In terms of gameplay, Medal of Honor (2020) also did not disappoint. No, of course, you should understand that the scale of Modern Warfare2 is not here, but where MW2 took explosions and special effects, the “medal” gives us a bunch of interesting situations. Then we catch a stray bullet and our partners drag us to a safe place, and after ten minutes we shoot back from the oncoming Taliban and now, we already have only ten rounds in the clip, and are already ready to say goodbye to life, when a helicopter flies over the sky and evacuates us. Or a situation when we are thrown out of a plane and we, with broken bones and one knife in our hand, wander through a dark snow-covered forest. Having killed the enemy, we, of course, can take away his Kalashnikov, but then a dozen Taliban will come running to shoot and we will have a hard time. So you have to crawl and hide in the shadows from patrols. And finally, my favorite. The very first mission, when we need to finish off all the enemies in a dark building. Our enemies don’t see us, just like we don’t see them. Can you tell me what happened in dozens of other games? Of course, but there is one difference…there is no night vision device. We are as blind as our enemies and see only their dark silhouettes. Only intuition and a cold knife.

Ordinary shootouts also look awesome. And it’s not even about the ideal ballistics of the weapon, which is not here. It’s all about the cover system. No, no, no, not like RS or James Bond. No moving cameras, sticking to walls and other crap. If you run and simultaneously press the button responsible for crouching, the fighter will ride, excuse me, on his ass, in the direction you want. It looks very impressive, and I can’t understand why such a simple technique has never been used in shooters before. Imagine, they are shooting at you from a stationary machine gun, from the shelters there are only stones, which, by the way, are shot right through, if you stand up to your full height, you are a corpse, so you have to roll from one shelter to another until you get to the target designator in order to highlight the target for aviation .
As I already mentioned, the shelters are now “a little” interactive. Of course, the game is vitally lacking in destructibility, ala Bad Company2, I can’t even imagine what it would have been like if it had been in it. But, unfortunately, it is not there, but there is only a pathetic stub in the form of shelters that can be shot through. Whether the enemy is behind a stone or behind a concrete slab, if you shoot for a long time you will eliminate him.
Speaking of enemies… the local Taliban are so stupid and weak that it’s even a pity to kill them. They constantly run towards the firing machine gun, do not pay attention to the American soldier who is running towards them like crazy with a knife in his hands, and also carefully stick their heads out of hiding so that we can save them from suffering and get an “achievement” for ourselves.
And of course we can’t help but note the wonderful episodes with vehicles. In the first there is an ATV, there’s nothing special here, something similar you’ve already seen in Modern Warfare 2, but in the second they let us sit in the cockpit of an Apache helicopter, of course it’s a shame just to sit. It will be controlled by scripts, and we only need to shoot at the targets in time, but coupled with the amazing landscapes that we see and such dissimilarity from the rest of the game, this level is the best in the entire game (editor’s note: author’s opinion, if you don’t I agree, there is no need to threaten with murder and rape).
Since I already mentioned landscapes, it’s probably worth talking about the graphic component, in general. Yes, the landscapes are magnificent, the locations are varied (as is possible), the animation is gorgeous, but it seems like no work was done on the weapons at all. It’s as if it was hollowed out from a single piece, one person said, and he’s absolutely right. The first time I saw a shotgun, I was horrified, my first thought was “Why did Dante grab a stick?” Well, what else can I say about the graphics? I don’t even know. She’s good, that’s all.

The soundtrack is also excellent. Not only can you hear the band Linkin Park, who wrote the exclusive track Catalyst for the game, during shootouts, but also the weapons are voiced superbly, each “gun” has its own sound. And explosions, explosions, are just something, especially if you are the owner of a 5.1 audio system and don’t like your neighbors. The only drawback is localization. Well, as a drawback, it doesn’t bother me, since I know English quite well, but people who prefer to read subtitles won’t see even half of the dialogues, since shooting at the Taliban and reading tiny subtitles at the same time is another task.
Brief summary.
I didn’t specifically talk about multiplayer, since it’s like a cow’s saddle, and everyone has long appreciated it, playing the beta version of the game and when Medal of Honor (2020) came out a few weeks later, the Internet spaces of this game were empty would be, and since Black Ops will not be released relatively soon, you can while away a couple of evenings in it.
Well, the single turned out to be a solid 8 points.

Forgotten brand Medal of Honor
returned to the screens of our monitors and televisions. Motives Electronic Arts
easy to understand – Call of Duty
lives and thrives, bringing Activision
fabulous money. Challenge before EA Los Angeles
was simple and clear – make your own Modern Warfare 2

But still, fate is a strange thing. First Call of Duty

thumbs up for the obvious desire to line his pockets by shamelessly exploiting other people’s achievements. Now the situation is diametrically opposite – after Modern Warfare 2
