: 27 Huawei and honor devices received a new version of harmonyos 2.0
During the week, 18 smartphones and 9 tablets were updated.
The Chinese company Huawei continues the process of updating smartphone software to HarmonyOS 2.0, which was launched in the first month of summer 2021. Over the past week, the Chinese manufacturer has released a fresh build of the operating system for 14 Huawei phones, 4 Honor models and 9 Huawei tablet computers.
Let’s start with smartphones. First of all, the company wanted to pay attention to old solutions. Therefore, the list even includes Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus, which were presented back in 2021. By the way, these are the first flagship models on the market with a dual main camera. They operate under the control of the Kirin 960 single-chip system.
The next generation of flagships is also on the list. We are talking about Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro on a more advanced 10-nanometer Kirin 970 AI mobile processor. Smartphones were released in the spring of 2021. The standard model also received a dual main camera, like its predecessor, but the Pro version became the debut phone in history, the camera configuration of which included three optical modules at once.
Note that the Mate RS Porsche Design model, which was also released in the spring of 2021 and is equipped with a single-chip Kirin 970 AI system, was again left without an update. By the way, this is the first and only smartphone that boasts a regular rear fingerprint scanner and an under-screen fingerprint sensor at the same time.
Now let’s move on to the Mate series. Here HarmonyOS 2.0 has also been updated for four smartphones. First up is the Huawei Mate 9, announced in 2021. Secondly, the Huawei Mate 10 family is complete. The latter consists of three models: Mate 10 / 10 Pro and Mate 10 RS Porsche Design. All three are equipped with Kirin 970 AI. The previous generation flagship uses Kirin 960.
In addition, the Chinese manufacturer has released a more recent build of the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system for nova smartphones. Two fourth-generation models and four fifth-generation devices received the update.
Now regarding Honor smartphones. As we wrote at the beginning of the material, the update is available only for a quartet of models: Honor 9X / 9X Max, Honor 10 and Honor View 10. The latter was introduced at the end of 2021 and runs on the Kirin 970 AI chipset. Honor 10 is equipped with the same single-chip system, but it was released in the spring of 2021. Both X series models were introduced that same year.
In conclusion, we would like to add that the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system update has been released for MediaPad and MatePad tablet computers. The first series includes three devices, and the second series includes six, including Huawei MediaPad 11 and MediaPad Pro for the European market.

The final list of HUAWEI smartphones from 2021-2020 that will receive EMUI 11 on Android 11
For many years, HUAWEI has remained one of the most popular brands on the Russian market. The Chinese company has a very wide range of products, allowing it to demonstrate excellent sales in almost all segments: from budget products from 10,000 rubles, to vigorous mid-range products costing from 20,000 rubles and further – to last year’s flagships and the most advanced new products of 2020. HUAWEI has been on a storm lately. Just today, the head of the company expressed what many analysts have been saying for a long time: the main strategy for the coming year is survival by any means necessary.
First of all, it is important to maintain current sales at the same level. This will be achieved by signing direct contracts with suppliers who can obtain a license from the capricious US government. In general, this is a rather strange situation. At first, Trump banned everyone from trading with the Chinese, and then began issuing licenses for this very trade. All this is beyond the scope of our material, so we’ll leave this topic for next time.
So, loyal customers must play a key role in maintaining sales at current levels. If a person has a HUAWEI smartphone in his hands, then a lot of effort must be made to ensure that his next device is a phone from a disgraced Chinese company. In addition to price reductions and similar marketing tactics, it is important to show users that they are remembered and cared about. How else can this be done if without releasing timely firmware with security updates?
So, in this material you can see the final list of HUAWEI smartphones that will receive EMUI 11 on Android 11. There are 68 phones in this list. This has never happened before, because even the main competitor – Xiaomi, MIUI 12 will receive about 60 phones. A lot of work needs to be done, as original updates will take months to produce and distribute. Interestingly, 22 devices have already received a stable beta version, and many even have the official Russian one. At the same time, HUAWEI itself invites all owners of such phones to sign up as testers. As you can see, the list contains not only flagships from 2021-2020, but also less expensive devices.
In addition, there are devices from Honor, which is a sub-brand of HUAWEI and will receive firmware called Magic UI 4.0. If you saw that the first stabilizer has already been released for your smartphone, then you can wait for the final version until the end of October. As for the rest, information about the timing will appear based on the start time of beta tests for a particular phone. In any case, all flagships can count on a timely release of the update for the New Year.
How to install harmony os on Huawei p40, p40 lite and other smartphones
Already 8 Huawei devices have received the Harmony OS operating system instead of Android 11. By the way, you can roll back from Harmony OS 2.0 to EMUI 11 from Android 10 through the Huawei Mobile Assistant application.
- Owners of flagship phones and tablets powered by Kirin-990 and Kirin-990 5G processors will be able to try the latest Harmony OS 2.0.
The beta version of the software has already become available for such flagship models as Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro with the current version of the EMUI 11.0.0.156 shell.
In order to install a proprietary OS on your smartphone, you need to use the official version of EMUI! You also need to have a locked bootloader.
Please note that before updating, you must have at least 8 GB of free space on your phone and at least 50% battery charge.
- So let’s get started. The first step is to go to your mobile phone settings and then go to the system and update it.

Step-by-step guide to install Harmony OS:
Step No. 1 – install the My Huawei application
So, what you need to do before you start migrating from EMUI to HarmonyOS is to install the My Huawei app from the AppGallery.
Chinese services need to work! If necessary, change the phone region or download the .apk application from the Internet.
- IMPORTANT!
When you install and open the application, you will need to enter the region, you must select CHINA!!! But the downside is that everything will be in Chinese. Try installing a translator or changing your account…
Step #2 – Check your phone’s compatibility
When you go into the application, there will be a window with HarmonyOS, which will give us 2 options to choose from. You need to choose the one that is to the left, the one that will give you access to the beta version of the OS.
Then you will see the smartphone models that are compatible with the OS, you need to understand whether your handset supports the new OS or not. You may need to enter your phone model there.
Step No. 3 – go to download “Harmony OS”
After the compatibility check is completed, you will need to click on the blue button that will be below.
- This button will give you the terms and conditions for using the software. Once you accept them, you will be taken to the last page. It will show you whether your smartphone is compatible.
After clicking again, a pop-up window will open, offering us 2 solutions: ignore or download the software. Well, then you’ll figure it out, I think.
