Is it possible to download applications to a Huawei memory card with cache
It is often necessary to move cached games or applications. For example, games that we have been playing for a long time, applications with important settings, and so on. There is also a tool for this task called FolderMount. Unlike smartphone hacking apps, it can be downloaded from Google Play Market. Once downloaded, pair the app you want to migrate.
Another very simple application with a clear and simple name is “Move to SDCard”. It has virtually no other functions. All it requires from the device is a connected SD card.
Procedure:
- Go to the main menu of the program and select the applications that you want to transfer;
- At the bottom, click the green button “ Move
» or » Move

- When the process is completed, the program will notify you about it.
Transferring applications to an external SD card in a Huawei smartphone will not take much time. Unless you are going to transfer several dozen games and programs to a flash drive. If necessary, the “Move to SDCard” program can copy data without loss or failure.
On which versions of Android is it possible to transfer applications to an sd card?
The question of how to install applications on an Android SD card appeared with the release of the first operating systems for smartphones. However, for a long time, phone manufacturers and software developers did not provide this opportunity to users. As a result, we had to use modified firmware that expanded the functionality and allowed standard programs to be installed on an SD card.
In Android versions prior to 2.2, there was no way to move applications to external memory. From the Play Market it was possible to install only into the storage built into the gadget. However, subsequent versions up to 4.2 provided users with the ability to transfer installed programs to an Android card.
It was enough to specify the path for saving applications in the settings, and they were installed there by default directly from the Play Market. However, this required Root rights, which not all smartphone owners could obtain, since it required intervention in the firmware. Rooting phones to this day is a difficult task, which is not solved for all device models.
In Android 4.4, developers completely prohibited the installation of applications on the memory card, removing this functionality from the operating system. Google took this step in order to improve system security. However, with the release of system version 6.0, the situation changed, since users were allowed to install applications on the card using Android.
This function was called Adoptable Storage. It allowed the SD card to be completely formatted with encryption enabled and thus expand the internal storage. It is enough to configure the use of external storage instead of the built-in one, so that default programs can be installed there. In this case, a memory card without full formatting becomes unsuitable for use on other devices.
Transfer applications to sd card in Huawei without applications
On many versions of Huawei smartphones, it is possible to transfer games and programs (not all) to a memory card without any special applications. You’ll need to be familiar with your device’s settings to find the transfer options.
Procedure:
- On the main screen, select the smartphone settings icon, which looks like a gear sign

- Find and select “ Applications

- In this section, you need to find the game or program that you want to transfer to the SD card;
- Select the desired application and select » Storage

Here you can see that the application has migrated to the external SD memory. The method allows you to transfer only applications you have installed to an external card. Those that were on the smartphone when you bought it cannot be moved using this method.

Transferring android applications marshmallow 6.0 and higher
Starting with this version, it is possible to turn a removable drive into an additional internal drive. That is, your flash drive can become additional memory for your phone, and the system will sum up the total volume of both media. This technology is called Adoptable Storage.
The main advantage of this technology is the automatic installation of all applications from Google Play and unknown sources on the SD card, which is very convenient. But keep in mind that you will not be able to remove the flash drive and insert it, for example, into a computer, since Windows simply will not detect it due to the formatting of the partitions.
Now, by default, all applications will be installed on a removable drive, but in the system it is displayed as the internal memory of your phone. If you remove the flash drive, then all the data along with it stored inside will be removed and inaccessible.
Attention!
For correct operation, it is recommended to use MicroSD class 10, since this type of card has the highest data transfer speed and increased stability. 
Method 2: Combining internal memory and SD card
In Android 6.0 and higher, the principles of interaction between the system and the memory card changed, as a result of which several convenient features disappeared, but instead, the developers added the Adoptable Storage function — this is a merging of the device’s internal memory and external storage. The procedure is very simple.
- Prepare the SD card: copy all important data from it, since the procedure involves formatting the memory.
- Insert the memory card into the phone. A notification about connecting a new memory device should appear in the status line — click in it “Configure”
. - In the settings window, check the option “Use as internal storage”
and click “Next”
.
- Wait until the integration procedure is completed, after which all applications will be installed on the SD card.
Attention! After this, you will not be able to simply remove the memory card and connect it to other smartphones or a computer!

Setting external SD drive as default
You can set the SD card as the default memory, and then the smartphone will determine it as a priority for storing data.
For this:
- Go to the system settings of your mobile device and open the “Memory” section.
Select the section with device memory settings In the “Set as default” section, check the box next to the SD card and save the settings.

Some applications will still be saved in the internal memory, this is determined by their settings.
Step 2: connect huawei or honor to computer
The next step is to connect the device to the computer. To do this, you will need to insert the USB cable into the device and into an empty slot on the computer. If possible, use the original cable that came in the box with your smartphone or tablet and check the functionality of the slots.
After connecting the device to the computer, you must enable permission to save data to an external drive; for this you will need:
- Launch settings;
- Go to the “System” menu;
- Open “Developer Mode”;
- Almost at the very bottom of the menu, turn on the switch for the “Save applications to an external storage” option.
Important! The name of the permission to save data to a flash drive may differ slightly from what is shown in the screenshot. Sometimes it is written “Allow external storage devices to save data” or something else, it all depends on the device model and EMUI version.
After connecting the device to the computer, you will need to change the USB operating mode to file transfer if the function is not turned on automatically.
To change the connection mode you will need:
- Enter device settings;
- Click on the “Connections” or “Device Connection” menu item depending on the phone or tablet model;
- Select the line “USB connection”;
- In the list that appears, find “File Transfer” and click on it.
