GPS. wifi
The tablet has a full-fledged GPS module. The first “cold” start took about a minute or so. The tablet was able to see a maximum of 18 satellites, and received data from 8. Moreover, these results were measured in an apartment on the first floor near metal blinds, and besides, it was raining outside. These indicators can be stated as excellent.
No problems were identified with Wi-Fi operation. Wi-Fi Direct is in place. It is possible to connect the tablet via MHL interface.
Autonomous operation.
The battery in our case is 6600 mAh. This is of course not a super-duper indicator, there are more capacious solutions, but good optimization of energy consumption allows you to achieve good battery life:
1. Work in cell phone mode only calls and a few SMS messages. Used BT headset — 65 hours.
2. Work in mixed mode: calls, Internet, video, games — 17 hours.
3. Play MP3 file in headphones, maximum volume — 72 hours.
4. Video playback, sound and screen brightness at maximum — 10 hours.
5. Work in 3D applications (games), sound at maximum, screen brightness 75% — 9 hours.
As you can see, the battery life is quite good.
In progress.
Huawei MediaPad 10 Link uses HiSilicon Balong V9R1 single-chip system. In fact, this is Huawei’s own development. 4 ARM Cortex-A9 cores, ARMv7 architecture, frequency 1600 MHz. This is enough to score more than 20 thousand points in Antutu. The graphics accelerator is the new quad-core Mali-450.
Actually, this processor is used only in the company’s own products and you won’t find them on the outside. This results in rather low optimization of the processor in applications and games. For example, the Ice Storm Unlimited test in 3Dmark refused to pass on this bundle.
The rest of the test results can be seen in the screenshots provided:
RAM in a 1GB tablet after loading the system will leave only 327MB for free use, which is quite a bit, I think 2GB would be more appropriate here.
The permanent built-in memory is 16GB, after downloading there will be 12GB left, which can be considered a good result.
It supports working with MicroSDXC memory cards and you can install ALL applications and games on the memory card so that there will be no problems with lack of memory.
Now let’s see how things are in the games:
Modern Combat 4. The game incorrectly detects the screen resolution, which leads to simply terrible pixelation of the picture, ala hello DOOM from the nineties! It is absolutely impossible to play comfortably because the game also slows down.

» frameborder=»0″ allow=»accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture» allowfullscreen>
N. O. V. A. 3. The situation is exactly the same as with the previous game. In addition, the game simply crashes when starting the first level.
Dead Trigger 2. Here the screen resolution is determined correctly. The game runs on full graphics settings, but there may be slight lags in places.

» frameborder=»0″ allow=»accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture» allowfullscreen>
Asphalt 8. You can play if, of course, you are ready to put up with the incorrect definition of screen resolution.

» frameborder=»0″ allow=»accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture» allowfullscreen>
As a result, we essentially have a processor with good performance in synthetics, but not optimized in any way in gaming applications. It needs to be finished off dramatically, but for some reason the company is in no hurry to do this.
Information on sensors.
Design and controls
Don’t expect any design solutions from the Huawei MediaPad T3. The tablet looks simple, but at the same time quite laconic.
The body is completely made of metal. The metal adds weight, but the tablet does not feel heavy. The back side is painted gray with a matte texture. In the center is the manufacturer’s logo.
There is also a version in gold coloring and a model with a screen diagonal of 8 inches.
The thickness of the tablet is small — 8 mm.
The main camera was placed not in the center of the upper part, but in the left corner. If you look closely, you will notice that the camera at the top protrudes slightly above the top end.
At the top end there is a hole for a single microphone.
On the right side there is a volume button and a power button. The buttons themselves are also made of metal.
There is a speaker at the bottom end, there is only one, as a result of which the sound is reproduced only in mono format.
On the left side there is a 3.5 mm connector (mini Jack) for connecting a headset. An outdated Micro-USB connector is used for charging and synchronization; in mid-2020, it would be more appropriate to use a USB Type-C connector. There is also a tray for installing a memory card and a nano SIM card. The tray is made of plastic, which in my personal opinion is not very good.
The screen frames in the gray version are black. The gold color has white screen frames. When turned off, the screen frames almost completely merge with the screen itself. The width of the frames on the sides is less than at the top and bottom.
The front camera is located exactly in the center of the top edge. There is a status indicator next to the camera. The indication occurs while the tablet is charging and at the moment when the tablet operates as a cell phone.
At the bottom there is the manufacturer’s logo. Touch control buttons are traditionally located on the screen.
Button layout: back, home, context menu can be swapped in settings.
Touch control buttons can be moved across the screen to the left or right side. To do this, you need to hold the right or left button and move all the buttons in the desired direction.
The assembly of the tablet is good, no negative aspects have been identified. The back side does not press through, there is no squeaking of the case. Mechanical control buttons do not play.

Other.
During testing, it turned out that this processor does not work well with playback of various video formats. In most cases there is no sound, and in some cases the files do not play at all. Installing a third-party player from PlayMarket is simply a must for comfortable viewing of videos on the tablet screen.
The USB-HOST function is fully implemented. If you have the appropriate cable, you can easily connect various peripherals, from keyboards to hard drives.
Sound.
The tablet uses DTS (Digital Theater System) technology. Accordingly, we have two first-class stereo speakers. The speakers are spaced quite widely, almost at the edges of the ends. You can clearly hear the right and left channels separately.
In my memory, this is the first tablet where the stereo effect is actually felt, and not in words. Moreover, the volume of the speakers is simply enormous and this is perhaps the loudest tablet you can buy at the moment. Its sound can easily fill a small room.
At full volume, the sound is not distorted or distorted at all. Using an equalizer, you can achieve amazing sound quality, just perfect for listening to music of any style and genre. No problems with high and low frequencies, everything sounds just fine.
In terms of this parameter, Huawei MediaPad 10 Link is clearly not in competition!
Camera
The main camera in the tablet has a resolution of 5 megapixels. There is automatic focusing. The work speed is not very high.
Camera.
The front camera has a resolution of 0.3 MP, which is, in principle, due to the budget focus. Its purpose is to work purely in applications that use real-time video transmission.
Main module with a resolution of 3.2 MP. There is no autofocus, which imposes certain problems when photographing text and using the camera in macro mode. The maximum image resolution is 2048×1536 pixels. Even with these parameters, the camera takes pretty good pictures within this tablet.
Color rendition is not bad, naturally there is not enough sharpness in the frame and it seemed to me that the background was a little “blurred”. Otherwise, you can use the camera, but it’s still better to view pictures on the tablet screen itself, otherwise you may not be happy with the quality.
The camera settings are quite sparse and contain the following parameters:
1. Single shot.
2. Panorama.
3. A series of several photographs.
4. Several effects to choose from “old photo” to “sepia”.
5. White balance.
6. I SO.
7. Exposure, saturation, contrast, brightness.
8. Quality, photo size.
Example of photos taken with the main camera:
LINK TO ORIGINALS: Huawei MediaPad 10 Link Foto_Cam_3.2Mp
From the video settings, you can select only one available resolution: 1280×720 pixels at 15 frames per second. Recording format mp4. The resulting video shows graininess in the frame and lacks sharpness and smoothness of the picture.

Equipment
Traditionally, the configuration of tablet PCs does not differ in variety. However, let’s see what’s in the box…
1. Tablet.
2. Network charger.
3. USB to Micro USB cable.
4. Warranty card.
5. User manual.
6. Paperclip for removing the tray.
The clip is attached to a separate box with a cable and charger.
As expected, the package is standard, there are only the most necessary components for work.

Confused interface management.
There is no standard display of battery percentage on the screen.
Wi-Fi is slower.
An incomprehensible system for transferring files from a PC to the tablet’s memory; with a standard connection, it only sees the Micro SDHC card, but the internal memory of the tablet itself does NOT.
Older version of Android.
There have been a lot of completely unnecessary applications from the Online Paid Movie series.
A crappy camera, although it has a flash, but it’s clearly not 8 megapixels, a maximum of 3 in reality, well, 5 at a stretch.
The body is made of metal and is smooth, which means it will slide easily in your hands.
About the manufacturing company.
Huawei Technologies Co Ltd is a multinational corporation and the world’s largest supplier of networking and telecommunications equipment. The company was founded in 1988 by retired Chinese People’s Liberation Army officer Ren Zhengfei. The headquarters is located in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China.
The Huawei Device structural division is directly involved in the development and production of mobile devices for end consumers. Initially, Huawei Device produced so-called white-label devices (USB modems, WiFi routers, mobile phones and smartphones, as well as other equipment) for large telecom operators.
In Russia, Huawei mobile devices were sold under their own brands MTS, Megafon and Beeline. The first line of smartphones and tablets under its own brand was introduced in 2020 and was called IDEOS. The priority platform for mobile devices produced by the company is Google Android, but at the end of 2020, Huawei announced the first devices based on the Windows Phone 8 operating system from Microsoft.
Work in cell phone mode.
The tablet fully implements the ability to work in cell phone mode. There are no restrictions on this parameter; you can: make calls, send SMS/MMC messages. A regular SIM card (MiniSIM) is used. You can also access the Internet via 3G.
I used a SIM card from MTS. There was no need to enter the settings manually; all the settings came automatically. The microphone in the tablet is located on the back side and for a conversation it is not necessary to hold the tablet with the back side, the microphone does its job perfectly, speech transmission is excellent, the interlocutor can be heard well, the volume of the speakers is with reserve.
Analysis of the Huawei mediapad t3 10 tablet
The vendor expressed a desire to add to the review the process of disassembling the Huawei MediaPad T3 10 tablet. To be honest, I am quite skeptical about this kind of activity, but a wish is a wish.
At first it may seem that the tablet is disassembled by removing the back cover, but in practice everything is a little more complicated.
The disassembly process begins with removing the screen. In this case, the screen does not need to be preheated.
All you need to detach the screen is an unwanted SIM card or any other plastic object. The main thing is that the plastic part is solid. Next, we sharpen the plastic from one edge so that the tip is sharp. Regular sandpaper is ideal for sharpening.
It is important to use only plastic parts to disassemble the tablet. This way, when disassembling the case, the appearance of the tablet will not be affected.
Since I don’t have much experience in disassembling the Huawei MediaPad T3 10 tablet and I couldn’t find material on this particular tablet on the Internet, I had an unpleasant incident when I first tried to disassemble it. I didn’t insert the plastic part very deeply and the next time I moved the screen cracked.
Looking ahead, I want to say a big thank you to the vendor for providing the replacement screen.
Well, we move directly to the analysis.
It is important to carefully insert the sharpened SIM card between the screen and the body of the tablet. We insert the plastic a little into the case and begin to move it around the perimeter of the tablet. This procedure can be done several times, as it may not work the first time. Then the plastic latches will move away from the case and the screen can be removed.
ATTENTION!!! The screen is connected to the body using a cable, try not to tear it off.
The cable should be disconnected from the screen. At the attachment point, you must first loosen the clamping bar and remove the cable itself.
The base of the train is glued with double-sided tape.
The markings on the battery correspond to the declared capacity.
The speaker is fixed with 4 screws.
Front camera module.
The processor and memory of the Huawei MediaPad T3 10 are covered with a metal casing.
The screen manufacturer could not be determined. On the screen itself there was only a serial number.
The tablet was not disassembled further.
Software.
The tablet runs Android OS 4.2.2.
With the proprietary Emotion UI 1.6 shell. At the moment, version 2.0 is already available.
The main menu of the tablet consists of two main desktops without an additional main menu, that is, all installed applications are displayed on these two tables at once, and you can also add additional screens yourself. The ability to update firmware over the air is supported.
Well-chosen branded wallpaper.
There are as many as twelve screens with widgets. I present only one screen for consideration.
The Energy Saving mode is quite conveniently implemented, where all the options and actions for saving battery energy are described in detail.
All available Google services are collected in one folder. This is very convenient since they are not scattered throughout the tablet menu.
Quite an interesting thing “Tablet PC Manager”. When this application is activated, the system notifies the user what is currently running, how the tablet can be optimized, clear the RAM, etc.
Also, Tools in the form of a browser, calculator, and clock are placed in a separate folder.
From the visual design, you can choose from four different themes. Using the latter changes the appearance of the icons and the background of the screen.
From the additional shell settings, you can choose what effect will be when flipping through the screens.
But with the smoothness of operation, everything is not entirely smooth. It is obvious to the eye that scrolling through the menu does not occur smoothly. The screen can sometimes refresh late, and application shortcuts can be seen twitching. The speed of work in the Chrome browser is also low; pages sometimes load and update slowly, although the channel speed of 20 megabits is more than enough.

Packaging
You won’t see anything new in the packaging design. A standard rectangular box made of thick cardboard, made in a corporate color scheme.
On the front side there is an image of the tablet and the model name. On the back there are brief technical data.
At the ends there is information: about the country of manufacture, model number, IMEI number, serial number and model code.
Inside, the tablet is, as always, packed in a shipping bag. There is a pull tab for easy removal of the tablet from the box.
Screen
The matrix size is 10.1 inches. Resolution — 1920×1200 pixels. Pixel density 224 ppi. Individual pixels on the screen can only be seen if you bring the tablet close to your eyes, but no one works with technology like that.
Viewing angles are the maximum possible. However, IPS matrices cannot have it any other way. There is no air gap between the glass and the touch layer.
But the oleophobic coating is rather weak or absent altogether.
Standard multi-touch screen for 10 touches.
There is an eye protection mode in the screen settings. When activated, UV radiation, which affects eye fatigue, is reduced, and the color palette of the screen changes to a yellow tint. This functionality is available in every tablet from this manufacturer.
The color temperature can be changed in any order or use ready-made settings.
Next, we will look at the screen settings in more detail. The ColorMunki Display calibrator from X-Rite is used for testing.
Gamma curves show less than ideal results. There may be a lack of color saturation.
Color channels are generally stable, but colors may be a little cool.
Actually, color temperature indicators confirm this.
But according to the sRGB standard we see almost ideal performance. It is safe to say that the rendering of color shades will be quite natural.
The points of the gray wedge lie slightly outside the circle boundary DeltaE<10. In our case, it will not be possible to completely avoid parasitic shades.
In general, the IPS matrix in the tablet is quite high quality. Perfect for watching movies and playing games.
Conclusions.
This is actually the most difficult part of this review. The tablet retails for RUB 12,990. It has a good processor, which however cannot be fully used in games due to disgusting optimization. The budget screen also spoils the overall picture.
And here competitors arise naturally. A SUS Nexus 7 is 1 thousand rubles more expensive, but there are no problems with performance. Inch Antares HD — high-quality screen and no problems in games. L G G Pad 8.3 — costs less and beats Huawei in all respects.
PROS:
1. Good build quality.
2. Metal in construction.
3. Full operation in cell phone mode.
4. First-class sound.
5. Satisfactory camera considering the lack of autofocus.
CONS:
1. Meager delivery set.
2. Quite a mediocre screen with a matte finish.
3. Thoughtful shell.
4. The processor is absolutely not designed for games.
This is such an ambiguous product. Huawei engineers should clearly pay attention to their proprietary shell and processor settings.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this review. Thanks to DNS and Huawei for providing the tablet for review.
Conclusions
If you look at the price list of the DNS company, you can easily make sure that the Huawei MediaPad T3 has no obvious competitors in the price/specifications category. And HUAWEI itself is not the last manufacturer on the tablet PC market. For an adequate price, we get a tablet in a metal case, with support for GLONASS and 4G. And as a first tablet for children, this is a very good solution.
LIKED:
1. Metal body.
2. Almost complete absence of heating under load.
3. Adequate price.
4. Work in cell phone mode.
5. Supports GLONASS and 4G.
6. Interesting mode for children.
7. Good workmanship.
8. Availability of a status indicator.
9. Strong vibration.
10. Android OS 7.0.
11. Not a bad camera.
12. Screen video recording function out of the box.
DISLIKED:
1. Screen without oleophobic coating.
2. The speaker is not loud enough and the sound is mediocre.
3. Of the 16 GB of permanent memory, only 7 GB is actually available. Mandatory purchase of a memory card.
4. Sometimes freezes during operation.
5. Short battery life.
That’s all. Thank you all very much for your attention, good luck and see you again!
