[Пекин, Китай – 24 января 2019 года]

Huawei introduced the first processor specifically designed for base stations, the Huawei TIANGANG. At the presentation and press briefing held in Beijing on the eve of the World Mobile Congress to be held this year in Barcelona, the company announced the release of the revolutionary processor, which can facilitate the large-scale launch of 5-generation networks around the world. To date, Huawei has already won 30 tenders for 5-generation technology and sold more than 25,000 base 5G stations around the world.

Huawei continues to develop and introduce new technologies and makes serious investments in this area. Its comprehensive 5G processors support networks of all standards in all bands (C-band (3.5G) and 2.6G), allowing customers to access the best wireless and microwave services.

«Huawei has long been committed to investing in fundamental science and technology. We were the first to make breakthroughs in developing key technologies for large-scale commercial 5G use,» said Ryan Ding, Huawei Executive Director and CEO of Carrier BG. — Our company now has industry-leading capabilities to deliver comprehensive 5G communications services through simplified networks and simplified maintenance and operations. We are in the forefront of the commercial launch of 5G and creating a complete industry ecosystem.

The world’s first 5G base station processor

The first Huawei TIANGANG 5th generation processor on the market demonstrates breakthroughs in integration, computing power and spectral bandwidth. It is a highly integrated solution that supports large-scale integration of active power amplifiers (PA) and passive antenna arrays in very small antennas.

It also features ultra-high processing power, which is 2.5 times greater than that of previous processors. Using the latest algorithms and beamforming technology, one such processor can control up to 64 channels, meeting the highest industry standards. Huawei’s new development also supports a high bandwidth of 200 MHz, i.e. the solution is designed not only for existing networks, but also for future networks.

The solution also provides a revolutionary upgrade to active antenna units (AAUs), making base stations 50 percent smaller, 23 percent lighter and consuming 21 percent less power than their predecessors. 5G base stations can be deployed twice as fast as 4G base stations. These features will help avoid a number of technical complexities and reduce costs.

Simplified 5G solutions for rapid large-scale deployment of 5G networks worldwide

Huawei began launching commercial 5G networks in 2018, taking the lead in launching a full range of commercial 5G solutions, field testing the technology, and large-scale commercial use of 5G. By the end of 2018, the company had completed all pre-commercial testing and validation of its 5G solutions in China, and is now fully ready for commercial use of 5G technology.

On January 9, 2019, Huawei’s 5th generation blade series base station won the First Class Progress in Science and Technology Prize, recognizing its crucial technological achievements and unified modular design. All base stations are made in the «blade» form factor, and different modules can be combined as needed, which greatly simplifies the assembly and installation of the 5G base station.

«Huawei’s full-series, all-scenario simplified 5G solutions deliver exceptional 5G performance and communication quality,» said Yang Chaobin, president of Huawei’s 5G Network business. — These solutions help significantly speed up network deployment and improve maintenance efficiency. As a result, it is easier to deploy 5G technology than 4G technology.

Artificial intelligence for autonomous driving networks

Huawei also unveiled the world’s first data center switch with artificial intelligence. This solution features the highest performance in the industry and provides zero Ethernet packet loss and an end-to-end latency of less than 10 milliseconds. It consumes less than 8 watts of power with processing power that exceeds the power of 25 standard dual channel CPUs combined.

In addition, Huawei introduced its full-stack artificial intelligence technology for all scenarios for autonomous driving networks and developed the SoftCOM AI solution to help operators improve energy efficiency, network performance, maintenance efficiency and customer experience.

During the event, Richard Yu, Huawei’s board executive and CEO of Consumer BG, also announced the world’s fastest processors for multi-standard 5th generation devices and commercial devices.

The Mobile World Congress 2019 will take place on February 25-28 in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei will showcase its products and solutions at booth 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1, booth 3I30 in Hall 3, the City of Innovation zone in Hall 4, and booths 7C21 and 7C31 in Hall 7.
