Appearance and ergonomics
The plastic body of the Huawei U7 (2022) has a rounded shape, there are no sharp corners. The front side is “occupied” by a large display with a drop-shaped cutout, where the front camera is located. Somewhat above the front photomodule are the following elements: speaker, LED indicator, light sensor.
The back cover is made of special polycarbonate and has a “mirror” effect. The glossy finish gets dirty quite quickly, but at the same time makes the appearance of the gadget stylish and fashionable. There is a fingerprint scanner at the back. In the upper left corner there is a convex block with a dual camera.
Immediately below it there is an LED flash and the inscription AI Camera. The top edge is equipped with a headphone jack and microphone. The bottom end has a microUSB port, as well as two external speaker grilles. On the right side there are buttons for adjusting the volume and turning the device on (off), and on the left is the SIM card tray.

Display
The Y7 (2022) houses a 6.26-inch Dewdrop screen and has an elegant waterdrop notch that can be successfully disguised with a virtual black stripe. This IPS matrix has an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a resolution of 1520 by 720 pixels.
Very wide viewing angles are complemented by increased levels of maximum brightness. Even on a sunny day, the image remains quite readable. Factory calibration was completed successfully, since the color gamut turned out to be almost standard. As for the colors, they are not very saturated.
In the display settings, you can adjust the color temperature, change the desktop style and wallpaper, and select the text size. Smart Resolution lets you automatically reduce screen resolution to save energy. There are full screen and sleep modes.
Hardware and performance
The U7 (2022) smartphone is equipped with an eight-core Snapdragon 450 processor, which is made using a 14 nm process technology. This chip with Cortex-A53 cores operates at a frequency of 1800 MHz. The Adreno 506 graphics accelerator is located here. The amount of RAM is 3 GB.
The user can count on 32 GB, which is intended for storing files. It is possible to install microSD cards with a capacity of up to 512 GB. Inside the smartphone there is a powerful 4000 mAh battery. This battery reliably holds a charge for two full days in a balanced mode of use.
There is also a special energy saving mode that can be enabled in the battery settings. Fast charging is supported using the included 10W power adapter. The gadget runs on the Android 8 operating system.
In the AnTuTu v7.1 test, this device scores about 74,000 points. This is a good indicator for a budget smartphone. The interface is fast. The same applies to simple tasks. Many demanding games run on minimal graphics settings, but with a normal number of frames per second.
Camera
Huawei U7 (2022) has a dual camera. It consists of a 13-megapixel main sensor with an aperture of 1.8 and phase detection autofocus, as well as an additional 2-megapixel module. The second sensor is used to measure the depth of the frame. Since AI technologies are supported here, you can count on 22 categories, in which there are 500 automatic scenes.

Pros: Large screen, fast processor, enough RAM, easy to use, you can put a large font, everything you need for life is there.
Cons: Memory is not enough, you definitely need to buy extra (I bought 128 GB, but that’s a lot). The camera is very simple, the sound is primitive. BUT! For people who don’t need much from a smartphone, or who are just learning to use them (old and small), this is the optimal phone. You can buy it for a navigator or as a second phone for work. This phone is worth its price to the fullest.
Comment: I bought it not for myself, but for my dad, who didn’t even know how to write SMS, and deliberately limited the characteristics, realizing that he didn’t need all these bells and whistles. So for a pensioner who is just learning to use a smartphone, this is almost an ideal option.
