Appearance.
The overall appearance of the tablet is, of course, classic. From the front it looks like everyone else’s. Rounded corners, screen frames more than 20 mm wide, which visually makes the screen smaller than the stated 10 inches. Thickness 9.9 mm. Of course it’s pleasing, but the size of the Apple company’s tablets and especially the latest Sony tablets is still very far away. And of course, the weight of 640 grams personally, by my standards, seems heavy; you can’t hold it in one hand for very long.
Only the back of the tablet deserves special attention. It is made of approximately 75% unpolished aluminum. By the way, this structure of the surface of the back cover resists scratches quite poorly, but at the same time it is pleasant to hold in your hand, the tablet does not slip out.
The remaining 25% of the rear surface is an uneven white polycarbonate insert. The combination of two completely different materials in the tablet’s body came in handy; the look of the back turned out to be a bit in a high-tech style. Of the remaining elements of the body, we can only highlight the main camera lens, which protrudes at the top of the back cover. And these are perhaps all the most significant points in the design of this tablet.
There were no questions regarding the build quality. Everything is made to a fairly high level. The back cover is not pressed through. The tablet does not make any extraneous sounds when twisted or broken. There are no extra or unnecessary gaps on the device body.

Installing twrp recovery
Previously, ClockworkMod (aka CWM) was a common recovery for almost all major Android devices. Since then, a lot has changed, a new service has appeared, which has received many critical reviews, but also a huge user base. TeamWin Recovery Project, or TWRP for short, is a full-touch custom recovery that was originally designed for Nexus devices, but has since become available for countless other smartphones and tablets in the form of both official and third-party builds.
Recovery sequence:
Before flashing a Huawei phone, create a new folder in the phone memory or on the SD card and rename it dload.
Download Huawei Stock firmware and copy the update.zip file to the dload folder.
Enter the device into Twrp Recovery.
Turn off the device.
Press the volume up and the power button at the same time to enter the TWRP custom recovery.
Proceed to the installation, find the update.zip file and flash it.
Once the update process is completed, click Wipe cache/dalvik to clear the original ROM and reboot your Huawei device.

The tablet screen has a diagonal of 10.1 inches. The maximum resolution is 1280×800 pixels, and the pixel density per inch is 149ppi. Needless to say, with this value, individual pixels on the tablet screen are visible. They are visible under any mode of use and, to be honest, this factor is very annoying. In this case, it would be logical to make the diagonal smaller or use a higher resolution.
The screen is covered with protective glass, which is not bad. Interestingly, the screen contains some kind of anti-glare, matte filter and this is clearly visible in sunny weather. Thanks to this filter, the screen fades greatly under the sun’s rays and in fairly clear weather it is very difficult to make out anything on the tablet’s screen; this aspect makes it difficult to use the tablet in bright sunlight.
Actually, this moment is not corrected by turning the screen brightness to maximum; the maximum value is not sufficient. In the screen settings there is such a parameter as “color temperature”; using the slider we change the color saturation, the result of these actions is seen only in bright pictures.
However, the screen still remains pale. There is automatic brightness adjustment. Oleophobic coating is present.
Although Huawei engineers installed an IPS matrix with good viewing angles, its budget orientation is felt in all aspects, and this is clearly not the parameter on which it was worth saving so much.
A maximum of 10 simultaneous touches are supported. The sensitivity of the touch layer is good, but not ideal; the presence of an air gap has an effect.
Controls.
Traditionally, a short story about the connectors on the device body:
1. At the top end there is a plug under which there are respectively a slot for a memory card and a SIM card. The SIM card itself is of normal size, that is, Mini-SIM. In turn, the plug is attached to the tablet body, which eliminates the risk of its loss. A single microphone is located approximately in the middle of the end.
2. On the right side there is a power button and a volume button.
3. There are no controls on the bottom.
4. On the left side, the manufacturer placed a MicroUSB connector and a headphone jack with a diameter of 3.5 mm.
5. On the back side is the main camera, and on the right and left sides are stereo speakers. In the middle of the cover is the «HUAWEI» logo.
6. The front camera and automatic brightness control sensor remain on the front side. Touch control buttons traditionally occupy an area on the tablet screen. At the bottom of the screen is the «HUAWEI» logo.
In general, the layout of the controls is quite successful. The only MicroUSB connector is more convenient (for me personally) to be placed on the bottom end, since 90% of the time the tablet is used in a horizontal position.
Conclusions.
This is actually the most difficult part of this review. The tablet retails for RUB 12,990. It has a good processor, which however cannot be fully used in games due to disgusting optimization. The budget screen also spoils the overall picture.
And here competitors arise naturally. A SUS Nexus 7 is 1 thousand rubles more expensive, but there are no problems with performance. Inch Antares HD — high-quality screen and no problems in games. L G G Pad 8.3 — costs less and beats Huawei in all respects.
PROS:
