Appearance and ergonomics
If the front part of the Honor 5C looks quite simple and familiar, then the back panel is frankly pleasing. Thanks to the ergonomic design, holding the gadget in your hand is comfortable. This budget model uses a durable all-metal aluminum body. At the same time, the metal surface was subjected to special polishing, which allowed the body to remain less slippery.
Thanks to touch navigation buttons, the manufacturer has saved useful space under the screen. The device turned out to be relatively compact and light, because its weight is only 156 grams, and the 8.3 mm thickness remains within reason. It is noteworthy that the anodized coating prevents scratches from remaining on the body. Honor 5C color options: silver, gold and gray.
Battery endurance honor
The 3000 mAh battery is one of the advantages of Honor 5C. During testing, we noticed that even after a day and a half of use, the 5C still had 30% charge left. At the same time, the screen was on for a significant part of the time, calls were made, and GPS was used for an hour.
Fast charging technology is not supported, so it took 2 hours and 45 minutes to charge the battery from 30 to 100% — a little slower than I would like.
The Ultra function will help you save battery power; when activated, Honor only has basic functions—receiving calls and text messages.
Design and build quality
The high build quality of the Honor 5C is noticeable at first glance, and you can immediately feel it as soon as you pick up the device. The smartphone does not feel bulky, although it weighs 156 grams, which is slightly heavier than other phones of a similar size, measuring 147.1? 73.8? 8.3 mm. Available in silver, gray and gold colors.
On the front side of Huawei Honor 5C there is only a speaker, the selfie camera and the logo are located below the screen. The back is made of smooth aluminum, and the sides are made of slightly corrugated plastic. Thanks to this, it is comfortable to hold and you don’t have to worry about dropping it.
Speakers and sound 5c
Huawei Honor 5C has no problems with communication quality: the owner of the phone can be heard normally, as well as his interlocutor. The sound doesn’t distort and is loud enough, and the second microphone reduces background noise.
For music, videos and games, the speaker produces reasonably loud and clear sound, although it will be muffled if you’re holding the smartphone in your hand.
Display
Lovers of high-quality images will not be disappointed in the Huawei Honor 5C, because its 5.2-inch screen deserves special praise. The display has a gorgeous Full HD resolution, which is rarely seen in inexpensive smartphones. The oleophobic coating was also in place, and the absence of an air gap eliminates problems with excessive glare. The IPS matrix has excellent brightness and good contrast.
Camera
For its level, the 13-megapixel camera in the Huawei Honor 5C is very high quality. A single-color flash and competent autofocus are used, which works as correctly as possible with every frame. Therefore, with good lighting, you can count on amazing shots worthy of respect.
Of course, in the evening the situation changes somewhat, and the photos turn out faded and the detail decreases. The front 8-megapixel camera, which has an impressive aperture ratio of 2.0, is also not disappointing.
honor 5c camera
In any lighting, the rear camera of Huawei Honor 5C takes good pictures. The 13-megapixel BSI CMOS image sensor may not be enough to take large photos, but you can still print them at standard size. It supports 1080p video recording and has an LED flash.
The Honor 5C doesn’t take the best pictures, but it’s on par with similarly priced competitor smartphones. Focusing is fast, the same can be said about the burst mode. Supported camera modes include Light Painting, Food Mode, Time Lapse and Slow Mo. In Professional mode, the user will have more control over the settings.
The 8-megapixel front camera of Honor 5C can record video in 720p and has a wide-angle lens. There is no flash.
Cons:
- Quiet sound.
- There is no fingerprint scanner in the European version of the device.
- No NFC in the Chinese version of the device.
Disadvantages
- No fingerprint scanner
- Charging takes a long time
- 2 GB RAM
- SD card occupies the second SIM card slot
Huawei honor 5c review
Huawei Honor 5C was announced at the end of April 2020. This smartphone belongs to the budget class, and its characteristics are ahead of many competitors. But the device also has other interesting features, which will be described below.
Equipment and characteristics
The 8-core Kirin650 processor consists of four cores with a frequency of 2 GHz and four more with 1.7 GHz. The chip is built on a 16nm process technology, which means in theory it should consume less power.
Huawei Honor 5C runs quickly and without lag in most applications, although it only has 2 GB of RAM. 3 GB today is almost the standard for mid-range smartphones; it is used less on budget equipment. Because of this, when switching between open applications, performance decreases. Although the lag only lasts a few milliseconds, an additional gigabyte would fix this.
It is worth noting the Mali T830 graphics (600 MHz), 16 GB of internal memory (read speed — 150 MB/s, write speed — 30 MB/s) and the ability to use Micro SD memory cards via the SIM-2 slot.
In benchmark Geekbench, Honor 5C scored 898 points in the single-core test, and 3.933 in the multi-core test. For comparison, in the same tests, the Lenovo Moto G4 (released around the same time) received 713 and 3.182 points, respectively. This indicates high processor performance.
In the shooter N.O.V.A. 3 – 5C performed better than we expected from a mid-range smartphone, and almost did not freeze.
Pros:
- High performance.
- Gorgeous screen.
- Fresh platform.
- Metal body.
- Two good cameras.
Huawei honor 5c connection support
There is Bluetooth 4.1 technology, which is known for its low power consumption and is also well suited for hands-free calling and music playback in the car. G PS works flawlessly, and the presence of NFC is commendable considering the price of the smartphone.
Also supported are 3G, 4G (LTE Cat.4), Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n), GLONASS, USB OTG, MicroUSB and 2 SIM cards. There is an accelerometer sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor and compass.
Benefits
- Feels good in the hand
- Durable Battery
- Good camera
- NFC support
Software
Huawei and Honor smartphones use the EMUI user interface. Huawei Honor 5C runs on EMUI 4.1 on top of Android 6.0 OS, the OS will be updated to EMUI 5.0 and Android 7.0 respectively in the expected future — good news for those who are trying to keep the system up to date.
Like other Chinese versions of Android phones, this one borrows the iOS style — it doesn’t have an app tray and uses custom icons. Many Android fans will be upset by this fact, since each installed application is located on the main screen, and you have to create separate folders for them, which is unusual. Installing another launcher, such as Google Now, will provide a more familiar Android experience.
EMUI is one of the best interfaces for Android. The icons and menus are beautifully designed, intuitive and provide quick access. Shortcuts can be configured through the notification panel. There are many means to control the operation of the device. Healthcheck allows you not only to check its performance, but also to get advice on how to optimize your smartphone. From the same section you can access Traffic Manager, Harassment Filter and Battery Manager.
Notification icons can display the contact’s profile photo. Those. If someone you know sends you a message on WhatsApp, you’ll see not just the standard app icon, but a picture from their profile.
Communications and sound
The speaker in Honor 5C is a solid top five. The interlocutor can always be heard well, and the advanced noise suppression system works actively here so that the user’s voice can be heard extremely clearly. But the main speaker suffers from low volume, although the manufacturer assures that a special amplifier is used here. The headphones sound pretty ordinary, without any miracles.
The Huawei smartphone supports a wide range of LTE, 2G and 3G frequencies. The standard set of wireless interfaces includes Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. A nice bonus was the presence of an NFC chip.
Is it worth buying?
Huawei Honor 5C is a high-quality and convenient phone that is not inferior to its competitors in most important parameters and costs about 10,000 rubles. The lack of a fingerprint scanner is a little disappointing, but this is a minor drawback that is compensated by the high build quality, performance and battery life.
Honor 5C can be safely recommended as a reliable phone that fully justifies its price. If you decide to choose this one, I recommend buying it on AliExpress, where I ordered it myself, the seller gives a case and protective glass as a gift:

Huawei honor 5c screen
Honor 5C boasts a 5.2-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1920? 1080. Brightness at 45% is enough to see the display clearly even in direct sunlight.
Around the outer part of the screen there is a plastic frame that is slightly raised, with this Huawei Honor 5C is reminiscent of both old phones and modern ones with 2.5D screens. The side frame seems a little thick, but that’s nitpicking.
Conclusions
There is no doubt that Huawei Honor 5C is one of the best budget smartphones on the market. It is high quality, metal, powerful, and the display displays a crystal clear picture.
Yes, the device does not have a unique design, but as a technological workhorse it is simply magnificent.
Price at the start of sales in Russia – 14,900 rubles.
