Huawei HiSuite is a program responsible for the ability to synchronize Huawei mobile devices with the Google Android operating system with a computer. It is needed to back up files and data, to export and import information, and to manage information and files stored in the phone’s memory.

The program package includes a driver, without which it will be impossible to connect Huawei devices to a PC – adb.

In this manual, we will briefly tell you about the possibilities of connecting a Huawei mobile device to a PC.

First, connect your Huawei device to usb connector, an icon will appear on the notification panel indicating the connection. Next, on the phone, lower the notification panel and click on the current connection.

In the list that appears, select the type – HiSuite and wait until Windows installs the drivers for the new device.

After that, go to “Computer” and run the installation file in the new virtual drive that appears (you can simply click on this icon once).

The HiSuite installer will automatically download and install the required synchronization components and driver. This action requires an active internet connection.

Then you can synchronize with PC through the HiSuite utility in the windows menu or copy files through Explorer, depending on the connection type selected through the notification panel (HiSuite or MTP).

HiSuite is a Huawei proprietary utility that has a wide range of functionality that allows you to easily synchronize mobile devices running the Google Android operating system with personal computers running Windows OS.

The utility kit includes an adb driver that allows you to connect smartphones and tablets to a PC and select the connection mode (Media device (MTP), HiSuite mode, Removable media, Camera (PTP)). It is worth noting the fact that with the help of HS you can connect not only Huawei devices, but also smartphones from other manufacturers (for example, HTC).

STEP 2 (Burning flash drive)

STEP 3 (Setup start)

First, turn off the laptop and connect the flash drive prepared in STEP 2 to the USB port. Next, you will need to open the system boot menu Boot Menu (or BIOS settings) and select “our” USB flash drive so that Windows installation starts from it. How to do it? 👇

We need to specify the disk partition on which Windows will be installed: as a rule, it should be at least 40-50 GB. If you do not need any data on the disk, you can delete all partitions (see the “Delete” button), and then select and click – the installer will partition and prepare the disk for the system. 👇

STEP 4 (installing drivers)

The system is installed, the desktop is visible. Now you need to pre-install the driver! If this is not done, you may encounter the fact that not all functions of the laptop will be available (plus, some of the software will not be able to run).

Solving possible problems

Despite the fact that in general the procedure for connecting a smartphone to a computer is extremely simple, some users may find that nothing happens after the physical connection. Let’s see how we can fix this.

Often a failed connection indicates a problem with the driver. Usually it is always installed automatically when you connect your smartphone, but if this action fails, the device will not be detected.

Disconnect and reconnect your smartphone, and it is advisable to disconnect the USB cable itself from the computer too. You can also use another USB port.

If this does not help, check if the smartphone is visible as connected in the “Device Manager”.

If there is no device or the section itself in “Portable devices”, look for the “Other devices” section – it may appear there as “Unidentified MTP device”. In this case, try “Update Driver” for it in the same way as shown above.

Hardware Troubleshooting

Often the problem lies in the problematic USB cable that you use to connect. Check it for physical damage, try connecting any other smartphone or device through it.

Also check the USB port on the computer. Use it for other purposes, such as connecting a mouse or other USB device, to see if they work through this connector.

Note: non-original USB cables are usually the cheapest, sometimes they can only be used to charge the smartphone, so you cannot put the smartphone into file transfer mode with them. Replace it with an original accessory from Huawei or at least a high-quality universal cable.

Correction of the missing connection type selection window

Sometimes the connection is formally made and the user sees that the smartphone is charging from the PC. However, it fails to change the connection type, for example to “File Transfer”, in order to exchange data. You can try to fix this in different ways.

But they are also suitable for new Windows operating systems, if there are any difficulties during the automatic installation of the driver.

If none of the suggestions helped, try connecting your smartphone to another computer and with a different cable if possible. Based on this, it will be possible to at least understand with which device the problem is. Next, you should try to solve the problem by common means (if the PC is to blame, check why it does not see the connected USB devices / MTP devices, and if the smartphone is to blame, reset the settings, contact a service center or a forum like w3bsit3-dns.com for help).

Problem solving

The program does not start? To solve this problem, you just need to install the HiSuite Daemon.apk file.
Device not syncing? Check if USB debugging is enabled. If it is enabled and the problem persists, remove all unknown devices from the manager, and then (after they reappear) install the adb drivers manually, specifying the path to them.
The PC does not see the phone or the device does not connect at all? Try syncing it over Wi-Fi. Some phones accept only such synchronization.
