Huawei Honor 6X is a new smartphone manufactured by Huawei and launched in October 2021 globally. Recently smartphone also announced in India with a price range starting from Rs 12000(178 US Dollar). The smartphone is also known as Huawei Mate 9 Lite and Huawei GR5 2021.

Honor 6X was launched in October 2021 which comes with 5.5-inches display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core Kirin 655 processor coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM model. The phone packs 32GB internal memory which can also be expanded upto 128GB via microSD card. The main selling point of Honor 6X is the camera which comes with 12MP Dual Camera setup and 8MP front shooting camera.

How to:

Step 1: Prepare a USB flash drive card that has available space of at least 8 GB (a OTG&USB flash drive card of SanDisk, Kingstone, or KINGMAX is recommended).
Step 2: (Optional) Format the USB flash drive card.
Step 3: Enter the dialer from the home screen, enter *#*#2846579#*#* to access the ProjectMenu menu, choose Network Information Query > Vendor Country Info, and verify that the country and carrier information matches that in the vendor package in section 3.2 “Verifying Software Upgrade Packages”, as shown in the following figures
- If the information is unmatched, perform the following operations:
  1. Copy the update_sd.zip package corresponding to trial production in the Vendor directory to the USB flash drive card root directory dload.
  2. Insert the OTG&USB flash drive card, power on the phone, enter the dialer from the home screen, enter *#*#2846579#*#* to access the ProjectMenu menu, choose Software Upgrade > SDCard Upgrade, and touch OK. The phone restarts and upgrades the vendor package.
  3. After the upgrade is complete and upon phone restart, access the ProjectMenu menu again, and verify the information about the carrier and country.
Step 4: Verify the integrity of the dload directory, copy the content in the dload directory to the OTG&USB flash drive card root directory dload, and delete the update_sd.zip package.
Step 5: Verify the integrity of the USB flash drive card root directory. For details, see section 3.2 “Verifying Software Upgrade Packages.”
Step 6: Insert the OTG&USB flash drive card, power on the phone, enter *#*#2846579#*#* to access the ProjectMenu menu, choose Software Upgrade > SDCard Upgrade, and touch OK.
Step 7: The phone enters the upgrade mode after restart (the main package and customized package are upgraded together). The upgrade progress is displayed during the upgrade. The phone automatically restarts after the upgrade is complete (the following figures are for reference only).

Method 2

Download the Stock ROM from above
Extract the Downloaded ZIP file
Create a folder called dload in the root directory and move the update.App file in dload folder.
Navigate to the phone Settings -–>Update and Click on the menu button.
Press “Volume Up Volume Down and Power Button” simultaneously. The Update installation starts automatically.
Wait until update installation completes.

Precaution 1

The version is COL-L29. Read the feature description before performing the upgrade.

(1) Software version

Ensure that the current version of your phone’s software is the original one. Otherwise the upgrade may fail or unknown errors may occur.
Do not attempt to update your phone to any customized versions for countries outside your country of residence. Otherwise the upgrade may fail or unknown errors may occur.

(2) Hardware version

This software is applicable to the HUAWEI Honor 10 phones only. If a phone of other models is used, the phone may not be powered on.

Update environment check

Check that the microSD card is readable and writable, and its remaining space is larger than 8 GB. It is recommended that you use a Sandisk, Kingstone, or Kingmax microSD card.

Upgrade description

You can apply two upgrade methods using a microSD card: normal upgrade and forcible upgrade.
