Stand-alone operation
The GPS drains the battery rapidly. The manufacturer promises 7 hours of continuous use, but our feeling is that it is even slightly faster. If the bracelet is used without GPS, but with heart rate tracking and the option of sleep detection enabled, we can count on four to five days. In principle, this is also a very average result. But this is the price for the bright color display.
And it is clear that the number of messages and calls greatly affects the battery life. It must be assumed that the device will not discharge faster than three days in any case (if you do not use training), but you should not count on five days if you actively communicate in messengers and take at least a dozen calls a day.

Conclusion at
The first Huawei laptop we tested did not make a stunning impression on us, simply because it is not too different from many very similar portable solutions from various manufacturers. A nice metal casing just begs to be taken on the road with the customer, promising not to pull away the bag or backpack and not to take up much space in them.
Excellent battery life allows you to drive around without a power adapter, and if it is still urgently needed, any standard one with USB output and PD support will do. The downside of all this lightness and portability is a very small number of interface connectors and, for example, the absence of a wired network. In general, as we said, it is a typical representative of its class.
The novelty is a little bit distinguished by the use of AMD processor, but, unfortunately, Huawei line of laptops has not yet been updated with the 4000 series of mobile Ryzen. Nevertheless, the MateBook D14 takes full advantage of the Ryzen 5 3500U installed, showing relatively high results in professional applications and games.
Huawei MateBook D14 enters a crowded market, there are a lot of offers in this class of laptops, and we easily picked up several models with exactly the same configuration on Yandex.Market (it is not always possible). Of course, each model has its own nuances, it is simply impossible to take them all into account in the review of a particular model (not a comparative review): fingerprint scanner, the possibility to upgrade the memory… Nevertheless, the trump card of the novelty is immediately visible: the price!
However, Huawei has a traditional (for its smartphone sales) trump up its sleeve: a gift at purchase. On pre-order, the MateBook D14 could be purchased for the designated 48 thousand bundled with the Huawei MediaPad T3 8 tablet (its retail price in the company’s store is almost 10 thousand rubles). At the time of publication of our article, the 14-inch laptop was temporarily out of stock on the website, but the 15-inch one was available, and the same tablet was offered as a «gift».
Perhaps, in time, another gift will be offered (or there will be a choice of gifts). Of course, many people will rightly argue that instead of an unnecessary gift, they would prefer a price reduction. There is such an option, too: a retail offer of the MateBook D14 for 40 thousand rubles has already appeared on Yandex.Market. In general, in such conditions, only Xiaomi products can compete on an equal footing with Huawei products: its RedmiBook 14″ Ryzen Edition is offered for 39 thousand rubles.
Bottom line
Huawei boasts that literally within the first 10 seconds of taking orders for the new P20 series flagship smartphones at Huawei’s official online store, Vmall, sales of the two models exceeded 100 million yuan. This is in China. Here, too, official sales have started, and the «regular» P20 is noticeably cheaper than the P20 Pro version: you can buy it for 45 thousand rubles, while the P20 Pro will cost 10 thousand more.
The difference between the models, in our opinion, is not so big that the purchase of the more affordable P20 model should be regretted. Yes, the battery life is slightly worse, but it is not impressive in the older model either. Yes, of course, the triple camera of the Pro-version attracts everyone’s attention, especially after the publication of DXOmark results: it turned out to be the best camera of cell phones.
But in fact, choosing the «basic» model P20, you are deprived only of 3x optical and 5x hybrid zoom, while much more useful is seen the new night mode, which does a really amazing job in night shooting and which is available in P20 Pro and P20. Everything else, except the size and diagonal of the display, is the same in Huawei’s flagship novelties, so you can safely save when buying, if you are buying a smartphone, not a pathos.

Huawei Band 4 Pro offers the user a better screen than Band 4 and some cosmetic improvements, but it costs 1.5 times as much. How much it is justified and whether it is worth overpaying for the above mentioned is up to the user to decide, but in our opinion, if we abstract away from comparison with other devices of the same manufacturer, 4000 rubles is quite an adequate price for really decent functionality (GPS, swimming mode, sleep tracking, notifications with text) and quite nice appearance.
