Huawei honor 5c vs Huawei p30 lite: what is the difference?
1.
All-weather (splashproof)
The device is protected with additional insulation to prevent damage from dust, rain and splashing water.
We believe that lighter weight is better because lighter devices are easier to carry. Lighter weight is also an advantage for household appliances, making transportation easier, as well as for many other types of products.
We think a thinner frame is better because it makes the product more compact and portable. Thinness is a feature that many mobile device manufacturers emphasize, but it is necessary for a wide range of products.
Height represents the vertical size of the product. We think the lower height is better because it allows for easy maneuverability.
Width represents the horizontal size of the product. We think a smaller width is better because it allows for easy maneuverability.
Volume is the amount of three-dimensional space surrounded by a product’s frame, or, more simply put, the space that a product occupies.
Battery
The smartphone’s battery is non-removable and has a capacity of 3000 mAh. It takes 3-4 hours to fully charge it, depending on the adapter used. Of the three performance modes available in EMUI 4.1, our testing methodology is suitable for assessing the effectiveness of two: smart and performance. The first of them allows the smartphone to work for 10 hours 4 minutes, while the second provides 8 hours 10 minutes when not plugged in. The level of residual battery charge is 3%, the capacity corresponds to the declared one.

Video
The smartphone supports Full HD video and displays it without any stutters when viewing. All the videos that were found on the Internet were played without problems, however, you should be careful with those videos that you download directly to your phone, the standard player does not accept all formats.
It is possible that you will need to install a third-party player. In addition, if you use a smartphone to watch videos in 4K format, then this model is not suitable for you; videos of this format are also not supported. For myself, I did not install third-party applications for video, since the standard tools were quite enough for me.
Appearance
The appearance, in my opinion, is gorgeous. The front panel is absolutely smooth, there is only a speaker. There is a screen edge, but it is quite thin and does not spoil the appearance. All the buttons on the smartphone are virtual, but this does not affect the operation at all; on the contrary, everything is quite convenient and familiar.
The back panel of the smartphone is made of aircraft aluminum, it looks quite nice, rich and fits perfectly in the hand. At the top center is the camera eye, which is raised a few millimeters above the surface, a flush-mounted flash, and a slightly recessed fingerprint scanner.
When used in conjunction with a case, the protruding camera eye does not interfere at all. The upper and lower inserts, as I understand it, are made of radio-permeable plastic, and also look quite harmonious.
There are two slots on the left side of the smartphone: a microSIM SIM card is inserted into the top slot, a nanoSIM SIM card and a flash card with a capacity of up to 128 GB are inserted into the bottom slot (although in fact, I don’t think that such a volume may be needed). A distinctive feature of this model is the simultaneous operation of SIM cards and flash cards.
There are two control buttons on the right side of the smartphone. One of them is the volume rocker, the second is the power on/off button. The design is quite convenient and what I especially liked is that the buttons have a mesh laser cut, making the buttons easy to use even in the dark. And it’s very tactilely pleasant.
The top end has a standard 3.5 mm headset/headphone jack and a second microphone for noise reduction.
At the bottom end in the center there is a microUSB microphone connector and holes for speakers. In my opinion, this is a very good solution, since in any position of the smartphone the speakers will remain open and the sound will be audible.
I liked the build quality; when using the smartphone, nothing creaks, crunches, or gets in the way. If you use a case, then the case is also securely fixed in it. I checked this especially carefully, because, having read other reviews of this model before purchasing, I was afraid that there would be flaws with play. But fortunately, this was not confirmed. The smartphone itself looks quite rich, stylish, but at the same time not bulky.
At the same time as the smartphone, I also ordered the original gray book case. He looks like this:
For other color options, Huawei has released cases in white and gold.
Appearance and ergonomics
Matte plastic with texture adorns the back side of the Huawei P9 Lite, which looks very stylish. There is a side metal frame. Moreover, all the corners of the body are rounded, and the edges are beveled. The smartphone is thin and attractive, but the appearance is somewhat spoiled by the translucent insert on the back, which is glossy for some reason.
The fingerprint scanner is located on the back, it is implemented in the shape of a square. The memory card slot is already customarily combined with a second SIM, and the volume buttons are made of plastic. The device does not tire your hand at all and is truly a pleasure to use. Moreover, thanks to its excellent ergonomics and compact size, the gadget will fit in any palm. Dimensions of P9 Lite: height — 146.8 mm, thickness — 7.5 mm, width — 72.6 mm, weight — 147 g. Colors — silver, gold, black and white.
Design
It’s not bad to look at Huawei smartphones. Tova can and everything for Huawei P9 lite. The material on the case is not fancy, but it is not attractive to look at. The rear panel on the e model is designed in an original way. There you can see a scanner on the surface of the print and a light.
No problem on the smartphone, it’s a perfect solution for the chorus, but they won’t blame you for “rotten.” Huawei P9 lite offers an alarm indicator. Work with it from the beginning with one hand. Skenerat on the right of the print is not reprimanded for protection itself, but also for crawling for the pictures in the galleries, suspended for notifications from the panel, etc.
Display
For Honor 5C, a high-quality 5.2-inch Full HD IPS matrix with narrow frames and natural color reproduction was chosen, which also features high backlight brightness. The touch layer recognizes up to 10 simultaneous touches and has an anti-glare filter, so it’s comfortable to use the screen even in bright sunshine.
There are minor problems with the uniformity of the black field and a drop in contrast with a strong deviation from the perpendicular, but the main problem with the Honor 5C is the lack of an oleophobic coating. For a smartphone costing 15 thousand rubles, it is at least strange to encounter such a drawback.
The software traditionally allows you to adjust the color balance to taste using a round palette, but this is done “by eye”. The touch layer does not recognize gestures on a locked screen, but there is a sensitive mode for working with gloves. It will come in handy in winter, which, as you know, is coming.
Iron
Meanwhile, the Honor 5C review continues. When performing basic, everyday tasks, this smartphone proves to be a fast and responsive device thanks to the dual-cluster HiSilicon Kirin 650 processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM and 16 gigabytes of internal memory. Graphics performance is average.
Let’s also pay attention to a large set of sensors, among which, in addition to the standard accelerometer and digital compass, there is also a pedometer. Moreover, the software necessary for its operation is built into the firmware.
Hardware and performance
Since the P9 Light seems to be a mid-level device, the processor here is appropriate. We are talking about the Kirin 650 chip, which is made using the latest 16-nm process technology. The processor with eight cores can be overclocked to a frequency of 2000 MHz, and the Mali-T830 MP2 video chip is designed to accelerate graphics.
Thanks to modern hardware, there is no slowdown in the operation of the smartphone. At the same time, Huawei P9 Lite scores about 53,000 points in the AnTuTu test. In games, certain problems can only be observed in very demanding projects. If you lower the graphics level a little, then even the coolest toys will run perfectly smoothly.
Camera
The device has support for two cameras: the main one, capable of taking photos and videos with a resolution of up to 13 megapixels, and the front one, shooting at a resolution of 5 megapixels. The main camera is also equipped with flash and autofocus. The preset modes include: Panorama, HDR, Focus, Good Photo, Watermark and Slow Motion.
A characteristic feature of the Honor 5X is the ability to manually set parameters such as ISO, white balance, exposure. Autofocus works quite quickly, almost never misses, and it is possible to enable support for automatic smile detection. For those who like to take selfies, the “Perfect Selfie” feature will be useful.
Examples of photographs without processing, taken outdoors and indoors, can be seen below:
Cameras
Huawei P9 lite is equipped with a main camera with a resolution of 13 MP and f/2.0 aperture. Svetkavitsa is all from a single diode. The camera is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera, f/2.0. The main module is for recording Full HD video with electronic stabilization, which is pre-defined – HD itself.
For the main camera, Huawei did not provide many shooting modes. There is also a separate “Delicious storage” mode, and therefore, use HDR and manual settings. It was agreed upon and removed overnight.
For a mid-priced smartphone, the Huawei P9 lite is a no-brainer. Yes, there is a lot of noise in the room, but the performance remains acceptable to modern standards.
Delivery set
The smartphone itself comes in this nice, particularly unremarkable, sea-colored box. True, I expected a more cumbersome design of the kit, but it turned out that no, everything is quite compact and convenient.
In addition to the gadget itself, the kit includes a power adapter, a USB – microUSB cable and a needle for removing slots for SIM cards and a memory card. For those who don’t know, I’ll tell you that in order to remove the slots, you need to insert the needle included in the kit into the slot hole and press. Everything is quite simple, but those who encounter such a system for the first time may be a little taken aback.
Equipment
For the Honor 5C review, we were provided with a test unit without a kit. The manufacturer’s official website lists the following accessories supplied with the smartphone: charger, USB cable, warranty card, quick user guide, SIM card removal needle.
Software
Honor 5C runs the latest version of EMUI 4.1, based on Android 6.0. The new version introduced scrolling screenshots, redesigned menus and retained the rich features of previous versions. There is a quick call function and black lists of subscribers, scheduled activation, a “floating” control button, a reduced screen mode and much more.
Let us note a point that negatively affects the usability of the operating system. So, after some complex synthetic tests, the desktop was unloaded from memory. The delay is small, but typical for devices with a lack of free space in RAM. Unfortunately, the new version of the OS is still not perfectly optimized and is “heavy” compared to EMUI 3.1.
Productivity and memory
Tosi model on Huawei is based on the HiSilicon Kirin 650 platform, derived from Huawei GT3. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The manufacturer envisioned a hybrid slot for either two NanoSIM cards, or one SIM card and a memory card.
Compared to the competitor Huawei P9 lite, the speaker is quite high quality. It’s hard and you feel it, why don’t you call.
Communication
The set of wireless interfaces that Honor 5C has is up-to-date. The smartphone supports LTE, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n). The slot for cellular operator cards is a combined one, it can accommodate two Nano-SIMs. If necessary, you can sacrifice space for a second SIM card in favor of microSD up to 128 GB.
Navigation works well. When you connect headphones, you can listen to FM radio. But connecting a flash drive via USB-OTG will not work; the smartphone does not support this technology.
Phone application and contacts
The phone application in the Honor 5X smartphone is excellent, as are the applications for working with contacts and messages. Everything is intuitive and simple, and two installed SIM cards will not be a problem either. It is always clear which SIM card is currently in use; it is very difficult to make a mistake.
Contacts are structured alphabetically, it is possible to mark your favorite contacts, in which case they will be located at the top of the list. You can record a wide variety of information on each contact card, from various numbers (which can be called whatever you like) to date of birth and additional notes. It is worth noting that birth dates are added to the calendar, and at the right moment the smartphone reminds you of them.
The messaging application is also very convenient. All dialogues are divided by subscriber; it is possible to mass delete messages and dialogues. New messages received can be configured to appear in a pop-up window where you can immediately write a reply.
I would also like to note the comfortable Huawei keyboard with support for Huawei Swype, spell check and hints. The smartphone also supports other types of keyboards, for example, the standard one from Google, but I don’t want to use them. Objectively, the branded keyboard is better.

Let’s summarize
The Honor 5C review is complete, which means it’s time to sum it up. In fact, we have before us an analogue of the Huawei P9 Lite in a simpler plastic case with a metal insert, with a slightly different screen without an oleophobic coating and without a fingerprint sensor. Nothing unusual, if you remember that the Huawei and Honor brands have common roots.
Pros:
- Bright screen;
- NFC, pedometer;
- Value for money.
Cons:
- No oleophobic screen coating;
- Poor graphics performance.
May not like:
- Case design and scratch susceptibility.
Final score: 7 out of 10.
Conclusions
What does a user get for 20,000 rubles? A solid middle peasant with great ambitions. The P9 Lights comes with a charging unit, instructions and a micro-USB cable, as well as a proprietary headset. The smartphone successfully retained the wonderful design of the flagship, and also acquired, although not powerful, modern hardware that makes the device work quite quickly.
