Setting up and restoring 3g, 4g modems and routers
Sometimes it happens that the Huawei E3372s and E3372h 3g modem, 4g modem stops seeing the network, blinks green or is not detected in the device manager. In this case, you can restore it using the needle mode and clearing the modem’s flash memory from bad blocks.
First you need to install drivers:
If you have Windows 8-10 operating system, then install BOS_solution_2.reg and package Windows8.1-KB2967917-x86.msu
Next, you need to put the modem into USB download mode. To do this, you need to disassemble the modem and use the needle method. The needle method is to close the necessary contacts and at that moment insert the modem into a computer or laptop. For Huawei E3372s and E3372h modems, the needle method will be different:
For the Huawei E3372s modem, we close the contact on the left with the case as in the figure:
For the Huawei E3372h modem, we close the first contact on the left with the case as in the figure:
Having closed these contacts, insert the modem into the USB connector of the computer and after 2-3 seconds remove the needle. In the device manager, the modem should be defined as a single serial port “HUAWEI Mobile Connect – 3G PC UI Interface”.
We are waiting for the modem to be redefined
Next, go to the device manager and make sure that the ADB device has appeared:
Then we make sure of the inscription Balongv7r2 and press enter (Enter)
After that, the Huawei E3372 3g,4g modem should be redefined and a single serial port “HUAWEI Mobile Connect – 3G PC UI Interface” will again appear in the device manager
This completes the cleaning of bad blocks. Next, run the program Balong_USB_Downloader_1.0.1.10 and select the COM port 3G PC UI Interface
Select the bootloader from the E3372s-repair-01 or E3372h-repair-01 folder, depending on which modem modification you have: Huawei E3372s or E3372h
Press Load and wait for the bootloader to be filled:
After uploading the bootloader, the Huawei E3372 modem should be redefined in the device manager as two ports:
After that, we launch the service firmware. Please note which modem you have: Huawei E3372s or E3372h to use the correct firmware
Next, flash the modem with a modified firmware. Please note which modem you have: Huawei E3372s or E3372h to use the correct firmware
And the final step is flashing the WEB interface:
After flashing the WEB interface, go to the modem at: 192.168.1.1 and reset the settings.
Everyone! Congratulations! If you did everything correctly, then most likely the Huawei E3372s or E3372h 4g modem will be restored.
