The innovative smart watch, with its classic design, offers long-lasting battery life and up-to-date functions for tracking physical activity.
HUAWEI introduced two new versions of the HUAWEI WATCH GT smart watch in Paris: the Active Edition and the Elegant Edition. The WATCH GT had its world premiere in October 2018. In less than six months, more than 1 million devices have been sold, making it the best-selling HUAWEI smart watch.
The Active Edition has a 46mm dial, like the previous models in the series. The WATCH GT Elegant Edition comes in a new 42mm design with a ceramic bezel. The new watch features high-definition color AMOLED HD touch screens. The model features a 1.39-inch display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels, while the Elegant Edition features a 1.2-inch display with a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels.
Long battery life
The GT smart watch uses an innovative architecture with a dual chipset and smart power saving. This allows you to switch between performance and efficiency mode according to your individual activity for optimal battery consumption.
The Active, Sport, and Classic versions run for up to two weeks without recharging in a typical usage scenario. It includes daily use with an active heart rate monitoring function, an activated sleep monitoring function at night, workouts of up to 90 minutes per week, and enabled notifications. The Elegant Edition model is capable of running on a single charge for a week. When used as a regular watch, without tracking physical activity, the WATCH GT runs off-line for up to 30 days.
Extensive opportunities for monitoring physical activity
HUAWEI WATCH GT recognizes a wide variety of indoor and outdoor fitness activities. The new Active Edition and Elegant Edition models feature a new «Triathlon» mode. It supports three types of activities: swimming in open water, biking and running outdoors. The smart watch records all activities during a triathlon, including changing sports. Triathlon mode will also be available on GT Classic and Sport Edition models after the update.
With its long battery life and HUAWEI TruSeen™ 3.0 heart rate monitoring function, the WATCH GT supports 24/7 monitoring of cardiac activity during active and resting phases. Combined with innovative PPG sensors and artificial intelligence-based algorithms, this solution enables the smart watch to monitor the heart rhythm in real time with high accuracy. In sport mode, GT can inform the user when they need to adjust the intensity of their workouts to achieve their desired performance. In rest mode, the watch automatically monitors and records the wearer’s heart rate.
TruSleep™ 2.0’s Scientific Sleep Monitoring feature evaluates user sleep quality, accurately recognizes typical sleep phases and offers over 200 tips to improve sleep. Recommendations are based on heart rate and respiration monitoring data as well as big data analysis.
A classic design in a new guise
The Elegant Edition (42mm version) is available in Magic Pearl White and Tahitian Magic Black Pearl. The new colors were created using a unique ceramic dyeing process. The dial of the Pearl White watch was obtained by diamond cutting to create 48 facets, which are then carefully polished. As the angle of light changes, so does the color spectrum of the dial.
Models HUAWEI WATCH GT Active Edition and Elegant Edition The watch’s dials support several dial options for different usage scenarios. After the update, this feature will also be available on the Classic and Sport1 models.
Fluoroelastomer straps for HUAWEI WATCH GT Active and Elegant models help create a stylish look and increase user comfort. The straps for the Active model will be available in orange and dark green, and for the Elegant model in black and white.
The presentation also included an updated HUAWEI Band 3 fitness tracker with a 0.95-inch AMOLED HD color touchscreen. The device supports real-time heart rate monitoring, swimming hand wave recognition, sleep monitoring, and other workout functions.
